The shoot started soft: a teal silk veil, gold coin chains, a grey wall and a slow turntable. Then the model picked up a longsword and the poses changed. Arms went up, weight dropped into the back foot, the silk started wrapping around the blade. Halfway through the day we killed the lights, rolled out a black backdrop and did it all again under one hard key light.
Silk & Steel is that day in 1,127 real studio photos: a female pose reference and sword pose reference for warrior stances, kneeling, cube and floor poses where fabric and steel tell the story together.
